Server Administration

Setting up a domain on your server with ukfast.net couldn't be more simple. Follow these step by step instructions on how to add a domain, modify a domain and delete a domain.

Firstly you need to login to your server, you can do this by using a normal web browser

Open your browser and enter the following address http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8090 (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx enter the ip of your server) Once connected you will be asked for you user name and password. Enter your user name and password

You are now logged in to your server.
To end your server session close the browser.

List domain

To modify a domain you will need to select the list domain option from the menu. This will allow you to at a glance see the domains that are currently hosted on the server and what there current setting are. From this you can alter the amount of web space and / or the ftp password, Where the ftp details are sent and Delete a hosting.

After choosing the list option, You will see all the domain names on the server, find the one you want to alter. At the end of the line you will see the relevant options.

EDIT domain Edit
DELETE domain Delete
FORWARD domain Forward
EDIT ALIASES Aliases
EDIT domain Change password
VIEW ACCCESS LOG Access Log
VIEW ACCCESS LOG Error Log

Edit

Selecting this will allow you to change the current web space or where the FTP details will be sent to. Once done select update domain

Delete

Delete will allow you to delete domain. After selecting this option, you will be asked to confirm your request.

Forward

Forward will allow you to forward a url to a different url on a different server i.e. test.com ---> test.co.uk

Aliases

An alias is basically the same as a forward but for domains on the same server.

Logs

Selecting either of the view log options will bring up a copy of the logs for the relevant domain. The access logs show a log of all the access made to the domain. This shows the ip address, time and date and the type of browser used. The error log shows a log of any errors that have occure with the domain.

Add a domain

By selecting "add domain" from the menu on the left will allow you to add a new domain to the server.
This brings a window up and prompts you for the following details.

Domain name - You only need to enter the name and trailing end ie domain.com you don't need to put http:// or www. at the front.

Username - Enter the username you want to use to ftp to the domain.

Password - Enter the Password you want for the ftp account.

Re-type Password - Confirm the password you entered previously.

Web Space - How much space you want allocating in MB.

Email FTP Info to - Enter the email address where you want the FTP details to be sent.

When you click on add You will be notified if you have not entered enough information. If you are sucessfull the email will be sent and a copy will be sent to yourself.

You will need to restart apache though before the domain will be fully added.

Restart Apache

Choosing restart apache will restart the web server so that any changes you have made can take affect. You must restart Apache after you make a modification to a domain

View Errors

Choosing view errors will show any error/events that have happened to the server ie. apache been restarted. In the logs it shows the date and time of the event and the type of event.

View users online

Choosing view users online will show all the currently connected FTP user accounts. You will be able to see the ip address, username and what they are currently doing.

View transfer log

Choosing view transer log will show you what has been FTP'ed to the server.

View disk usage

This option will show you how much disk space you have left.

MySQL admin

This option will allow you to set up and modigy MySQL database's.

Mail admin

This option will allow you to create/delete domains on your mail server.

Memory usage

This option will show you how much memory you have left.

Bandiwdth usage

This option will show you how much bandwidth you have used from a daily 5 minute average to a yearly 1 day average.

This option will show you how long the server has been running for.

Mail clients

This is a list of the FTP e-mail address you have for your clients you can e-mail one, a selection or all of your clients from here. All e-mail address are Bcc'ed. Tip: To remove single email addresses from your mail out, simply hold down Ctrl and select email address.
